I love paper piecing!

I stamped the solid heart from Love and Luck (Kitchen Sink stamps) onto some Eclipse tape. I stuck it onto this beautiful paper from Basic Grey- Blush. After cutting it out, I layered it onto some other coordinating paper and put Liquid Glass on the heart. I made a simple band using some striped dt and stamped love onto Chocolate cardstock with Hollyhock ink. This card is so simple but I really love how it turned out.

ATC- week 2 Our Washington trip

This week's card is very simple.
Jason and I went to Washington last week to check some things out and visit with friends. I couldn't believe how green and clean it was there (in Redmond). It was hard to come back to Colorado with dirty snow and mag chloride residue on everything. It is so cold here but in Washington, we spent most of the time in t-shirts and jeans. I wore boots but I wish I had worn my crocs because it was so nice. I couldn't help but think that this would be such a nice place to make family memories.

Love always

I bought these LuminArte' paints about a year ago at a rubber stamp show. I had great aspirations of making shimmery, shinny projects after seeing the demo. I brought them home, used them once, didn't like how the project turned out and put them away.



They caught my eye again over the weekend and I decided to try them again. I painted the solid heart (with Hot Cinnamon) from the Love and Luck set (Kitchen Sink stamps) and then gently misted it with water. I stamped it onto Colonial White card stock and I am so pleased with the results!!! I got a beautiful, bright, shimmery, shiny heart! Woo hoo! I used "always" from Never At A Loss For Words (also Kitchen Sink stamps) and inked it up with Chocolate.

The Vineyard Berry mat around the heart needed something. It was too plain. I inked up my Cocoa chalk pad and did 2nd generation stamping with the larger swirly stem from the Love and Luck set. I love how it turned out! I felt like it made the mat look like it had a texture to it. :) A little bamboo ribbon finished it off. The perfect card to send for Valentines day.

Poor Kait :(

Kait got two more crowns this morning and will go back in about two weeks to get some cavities filled. :( I feel bad for her because she hates it when her lips are numb. She really brushes her teeth and they always look really clean. I am not sure what is going on that she gets so many cavities.

On the bright side, once the laughing gas hit, Kait was hilarious. She just started to tell a story and I'm not sure she ever took a breath. It was really cute!

PLUS, Kait's dentist is GORGEOUS! (Yes, Jason knows I have a crush on her dentist. ;) ) He has muscles, brown hair and the prettiest eyes. And he is so sweet. If anyone is looking for a good, patient kids dentist, I will give you his info. Hot diggity! :)

I've seriously got a stack of cards that I need to photograph and upload. I am hoping that Kait will crash in a little bit so I can get it all done.

Presiden Hinckley has passed away

Maybe some of you know and others may not, but I am Mormon. Our prophet, President Hinckley died about 30 minutes ago. I will really miss him and all the work he has done for the church, especially announcing all the temples. Jason and I have been planning on going to the Kiev, Ukraine temple as soon as it is finished. President Hinckley has been an inspiration to me. He has an amazing spirit and was always full of great love and happiness. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to listen to him speak. He taught me to be a better person and I hope to be able to remember those lessons.
Thomas S. Monson will be the next prophet. He has always been a favorite speaker of mine and I have absolute faith that he will bring some amazing things to the church.

Sydney

Sydney has really taken an interest in stamping. I think that we will try to have her post something every Friday. She enjoys being held and just getting the chance to do something different, especially during the winter when she is stuck inside. :) I'll post something with her later today. Keep an eye out for it!

Loves me, loves me not

I am a little disappointed with how the picture of this card turned out. It looks really beautiful in person but I am really struggling to get it to photograph the right way. I stamped the image with four hearts shaped like a clover onto some White Daisy card stock. I embossed it with Baby Pink powder. I embossed the stem and leaves in Key Lime powder. Then I embossed several more hearts and cut them apart and layered them to make it look like a flower with many layers. A clear dew drop made a really pretty center. All of the paper is from the Sweet Pea paper packet from Close To My Heart.
