Valentine Rose

I wanted to create a Valentine card but I didn't want to use the traditional red and pink. This rose was made with 3 step roses (Kitchen Sink Stamps). It was very easy to line up to create amazing dimension. :) These colors are also really out of my comfort zone but I really like how the card turned out.

*Dee reminded me that I forgot to post the colors I used. Yikes! Thanks for the reminder!

All of the colors are from Close To My Heart:
the base is Grey Wool
the next layer is the light side of Twilight textured card stock
the Twilight layer that frames the rose is the dark side of the textured card stock
the rose is stamped onto Colonial White (I have to say that I used to be a die hard believer that all images needed to be stamped on white. Bright, clean, pure white. But I have since learned that using other colors can give AMAZING results. Try it if you haven't already...)

The rose was stamped in:
stem- Olive
leaves- base/ 2nd generation Garden Green, 1st detail/ direct to paper Garden Green, 2nd detail/ olive
rose- base/direct to paper Parchment, 1st detail/ direct to paper Parchment, 2nd detail/ direct to paper Taffy

The ribbon is White Daisy. The little tag was cut with a Cuttlebug die (Grey Flannel cardstock) and I stamped Ti Amo in Twilight.

Let me know if you try doing card with colors out of your comfort zone. I'd love to see it!

Love your layout!! It's a great way to showcase the single rose.
